Customize
Master Lists allow you to customize your eChef system, from the ingredients used in your recipes to the values in the various drop-down boxes. Master Lists can be accessed via the green icons in the left pane of the main eChef screen.
The Ingredients Master List contains every ingredient in your system. You can organize them by dragging and dropping them into Grocery Categories; this will affect how Shopping Lists are arranged. Edit the plural versions of ingredient names to keep your recipe displays and shopping lists accurate. Additionally, decide whether or not ingredients should be excluded from Shopping Lists (e.g. "water").
If you rename ingredient (e.g. "green onions" to "scallions"), all recipes in your collection will be automatically updated. If you delete an ingredient that is used by any recipes, eChef will ask you to select a replacement ingredient to be used in the affected recipes.
The Recipe Type, Occasion and Category Master Lists let you add, edit or rearrange these classifiers in your eChef system. If you rename a classifier (e.g. "Soup" to "Soup & Salads"), all recipes in your collection will be automatically updated. If you delete a classifier that is used by any recipes, eChef will ask you to select a replacement for the affected recipes.
The Unit Master List lets you customize the values that appear in your Unit drop-down box in the Compose/Edit Recipe window. You can also define the plural value to keep your recipe displays and shoppings lists accurate. If you rename a Unit, all recipes in your collection will be automatically updated. If you delete a unit that is used by any recipes, eChef will ask you to select a replacement for the affected recipes.
